This 2023 edition is centered around the theme: “The Role of Land in Promoting Productive Investment in Burkina Faso.”

The selected theme is divided into two sub-themes, namely:

Sub-theme 1: “Optimizing Land Policy for Sustainable Productive Investments in a Context of Security Challenges”

Sub-theme 2: “Public-Private Partnership for the Development of Industrial Zones in Growth Poles and Economic Platforms, Special Economic Zones, Free Trade Zones, Diverse Activity Zones, etc.”

This edition of the National State/Private Sector Meeting is the culmination of a process that started in 2022 and involved all stakeholders at both regional and sectoral levels.

Indeed, from June 20th to 29th, 2022, consultations were held in the thirteen (13) regional capitals to discuss the concerns of the private sector at the regional level.

The major recommendations from the regional consultations, as well as the specific concerns of different sectors, were discussed during the sectoral consultations held on July 25th, 26th, and 28th, 2022.

Indeed, this national meeting is an opportunity to address the concerns that have not received satisfactory responses in previous instances, with the aim of generating, in line with the objectives of this framework for consultation, policies and reforms that can create a more conducive environment for the development of the private sector.

The theme of this fifth edition of CODESP is highly evocative and provides us with an opportunity to examine the numerous challenges our country faces in the field of land management.

In addition to the meeting, the Ministry of Industrial Development, Trade, Handicrafts, and Small and Medium Enterprises, through the National Center for Industrial Property (CNPI), organized an exhibition of research and innovation products.

The Prime Minister visited the exhibition stands showcasing the expertise of Burkinabe innovators and businesses.

The National State/Private Sector Meeting concludes on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in Bobo Dioulasso.
